Did you know that watermelon is considered both a fruit and a vegetable? There are biological reasons for this, but also practical ones. It is honored in Oklahoma as the state vegetable! Why? Because the state fruit (strawberries) was already taken. Believe it or not, many people put salt on their watermelon!

In 1980, the United States exported 26,673 metric tons of Watermelon. But also, imported 93,317 metric tons.

In 2010, the United States exported 192,892 and import a whopping 448,217 metric ton.
