Certell Incorporated is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to enhancing learning by creating and offering high quality, online, multimedia courses to students of all ages. We are a 501(c) (3) tax exempt organization.

We make our materials available in several ways. First, we offer educators and schools complete course packages which they can adopt for their classroom. The packages are multimedia and designed for media-age students with videos, podcasts, discussion questions, test and quiz banks, and everything needed to teach in an online, blended, or face-to-face classroom.

For those looking for an online experience, we also offer our courses directly to students, taught by highly skilled and qualified online instructors. These courses are open to anyone from home school students to adult learners, at a minimal cost, and we offer a special section for educators.

Finally, we offer the class in a streamlined, MOOC version for those wanting to test the waters, earn some “badges”, or just see what all the fuss about online, multimedia education is all about. The MOOC is absolutely free, self-paced, and starts several times throughout the year. It is a “lite”, abridged version of the full course.

We are building a set of à la carte courses on important subjects. Eventually they may add up to a degree, but for now they are all self-standing.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Are Certell courses open to anyone?” style=”round_outline” color=”peacoc” el_id=”1441977979501-dcde804d-c760″]We offer sections of our courses for home and traditional-school students, college students, educators, and adult learners. In practice, our courses are primarily designed for students who are high school age and above, who may only take one course on that subject.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”I already teach high school social studies. Why should I be interested in taking a Certell course?” style=”round_outline” color=”peacoc” el_id=”1441977989681-7eb57d5a-76f9″]For two reasons: First, Certell courses are built around the new learning styles of media-age students. They teach critical thinking through online resources and multimedia assignments. As a result, by taking a course as a student, you will learn new ways of reaching your students.

Second, at many schools, teachers are often asked to teach outside the subject areas they studied in college. By taking a Certell course, you can refresh what you learned and you may have forgotten, or develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter before taking it into your classroom.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Your fees are very low. How is this possible?” style=”round_outline” color=”peacoc” el_id=”1441977983023-de99a2cb-404f”]We believe that in the internet age, education should be nearly free and we aim to prove that we can offer high quality education at a low cost to students around the world.

We are a tax exempt, 501(c)(3) educational non-profit. The development of our courses has been made possible through countless volunteer hours and the generous support of philanthropists. The fees we charge help cover the costs of instruction, where appropriate.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What is your course cancellation policy?” style=”round_outline” color=”peacoc” el_id=”1441977986982-9c467f69-d022″]Our deadline for withdrawing is three business days prior to the starting date of the course. At this point educators have been firmly assigned to each course behind the scenes.

Changes to enrollment dates will be clearly posted on the specific course page. Should there be any changes to your class schedule, registrants would be notified immediately via email. All notifications are sent to the email address students used to register. We recognize that circumstances occasionally require you to reschedule or cancel your course participation. Refunds are subject to a $10 service charge.

In the event of a cancellation after registration is closed, in cases of a medical emergency for example, credit or refund for the remaining balance of the course fee may be issued by presenting a medical certificate or physician’s letter.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What if I want to enroll in a different course?” style=”round_outline” color=”peacoc” el_id=”1441978083359-4f9e1064-70d1″]To inquire about changing sections or to enroll in a different course, please call 317-870-1050 during business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5 pm ET.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What are my payment options for each course?” style=”round_outline” color=”peacoc” el_id=”1441978140774-11c162a7-b3b1″]Certell expects payment arrangements to be completed prior to the start of each course, by paying the balance due in full. Unfortunately, we do not offer payment plans or longer term payment options.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”I am a teacher. Can I receive professional development credit for the course?” style=”round_outline” color=”peacoc” el_id=”1441978170965-89caffc4-1565″]Our experience is that the Full Course (as opposed to the 12-hour MOOC) takes 60-80 hours to complete over a 15 week period, and we provide educator and students students with documentation in this regard. Because the course is also offered at several universities as a three-hour college course, many systems use the formula 3 x 15 weeks = 45 hours of professional development credit. Most teachers should be able to receive professional development credit for the course, and we will help with any documentation, but it is up to the teacher to determine what information is needed to qualify, and the number of hours they will receive.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”I am working toward a Master’s degree. Can I get credit for completing the course?” style=”round_outline” color=”peacoc” el_id=”1441978169266-807fa4bc-b043″]Certell is not accredited, so it cannot provide you with credit directly. We have, however, entered into an agreement with University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) which allows students to receive 3 hours of Master’s credit if they dual enroll at UCCS. There is an additional charge of approximately $70 a credit hour ($210) plus a service fee which is paid to UCCS to receive such credit.
